## Definition

A seed phrase is a human-readable backup of your wallet. It is usually 12 or 24 common English words, generated when you set the wallet up.

If your phone breaks or you reinstall the app, you can use the seed phrase to recover the same wallet. Anyone who sees the phrase can also recover it, so it should be written down and kept somewhere safe and offline.
